Frequently Asked Questions
Answer: Yersin School aims to develop students with six key qualities:
- Responsible for themselves, their family, and the community.
- Independent and creative thinkers, confident to express their opinions and challenge ideas.
- Globally integrated while rooted in Vietnamese culture.
- Compassionate, respectful of differences, and humane in their actions.
- Self-directed learners with a lifelong learning mindset.
- Physically and mentally healthy, achieving harmonious development.
Answer: The program is designed to ensure holistic development for students and consists of four main components:
- The Ministry of Education curriculum (MOET).
- English program based on the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
- Holistic Development Program: including subjects such as SEL (Social-Emotional Learning), STEM, Digital Skills, and Financial Literacy.
- Enrichment Activities: including community service, career orientation, and the Student Council.
Answer: The English program is designed in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) to develop all four language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. At the primary level, students receive 9–10 class periods per week. In addition, students further develop their language abilities through integrated topics in Mathematics (Math) and Science (Science).
Answer: The school’s curriculum focuses on the holistic development of students through bilingual and international programs, combined with a wide range of extracurricular activities. The school’s distinctiveness is emphasized by its unique selling points (USPs), such as its teaching methods, the high quality of its teaching staff, and real student success stories (case studies) that give parents the clearest possible insight.
Answer: I completely understand your concern. In fact, the tuition fee at YERSIN SCHOOL is not just an expense but an investment in your child’s future. With this tuition, students receive a Cambridge-standard bilingual education, participate in extracurricular clubs, develop comprehensive skills, and benefit from safe day-boarding care and transportation services. These are aspects that public schools often cannot fully provide.
Answer: I understand your concerns. The core distinction of Yersin School lies in its educational philosophy of “Humanity and Holistic Development.” Instead of focusing solely on academic knowledge, the School creates a constructive learning environment where each student is viewed as a unique journey and is nurtured across six dimensions: Intellectual, Emotional, Physical, Aesthetic, Social, and Spiritual. The School is committed to building a strong foundation—from
Answer: The major advantage of YERSIN SCHOOL lies in its Cambridge bilingual program combined with the MOET curriculum, enabling students to maintain a strong Vietnamese foundation while becoming proficient in English. In addition, small class sizes allow teachers to provide close attention to each student, while activities such as STEM, club programs, and community service help students develop holistically—not just in language learning.
Answer: Yes, native teachers are indeed an important factor, and the English program at Yersin School is designed according to the CEFR framework with a substantial amount of instruction delivered by native English-speaking teachers. However, what truly sets Yersin School apart is its core value: “Global integration with a Vietnamese identity.” We do not only teach English; we strive to nurture “global citizens with Vietnamese cultural values”—students who are confident in international environments while remaining proud of and connected to their national heritage. This is a balance that not all international schools emphasize.
